SATCHMO "WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD"
ART & ESSAY/ POETRY CONTEST
The New Orleans Jazz Celebration’s Annual “What a Wonderful World” Art/Essay/Poetry contest honors the legacy of Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong through outstanding artistic work from students with the focus on the essence of the Jazz music in the Crescent City.
This contest is an opportunity for students in grades Kindergarten through High School to demonstrate their visual arts, oratorical, and written skills. Student’s work will be judged in accordance with the contest guidelines and rules created by professionals in the field of visual arts or English. Each entrant in the Satchmo "What a Wonderful" Art-Poetry contest received a certificate of participation and prize. Place winners of the Art contest not only received a monetary prize and have their work displayed at the Satchmo Summer Festival, but their art work will also be on display for four months in the local EXCELth Health Clinic(s).

THE AWARDS CEREMONY WAS HELD ON FRIDAY, MAY 24TH AT THE ELLIS MARSALIS CENTER.
